CATALOGUE NOTES

A bronze form Dehua censer banded by three bowstring ribs decorated with a band of archaic leiwen designs incised beneath the glaze and raised on three bracket ruyi head feet covered in a creamy translucent ivory glaze. The interior walls are glazed while the bottom and base are left unglazed. The shape like many Chinese porcelains follows closely the original archaic bronze form censer.
