Large rose verte porcelain rouleau vase, decorated with a large-scale phoenix and peonies; the reverse side with additional birds of varying type. All painted in rose verte enamels upon a luminous white ground. Provenance: Ex-collection of Lord Margadale of Islay from the Fonthill, Tisbury, Wiltshire (from the Alfred Morrison Collection- deaccessioned in 1965); Private American Collection
