CATALOGUE NOTES
Famille verte and rouge de fer ground porcelain amphora shaped vase. Decorated with two large rectangular reserves, on filled with a large four-clawed dragon amid clouds and flames, shown in pursuit of a flaming pearl; the other, with a pair of phoenixes shown in a swirling cloud filled sky. Interspersed by additional circular and leaf-shaped reserves filled with butterflies and "Precious Things," and all set upon a rouge de fer ground with chrysanthemum heads and tendrils. The shoulder, decorated with quatrefoil reserves filled with archaic dragons, all set upon a diaper ground with large | flowerheads. The neck is decorated with phoenix medallions and cloud scrolls. All superbly drawn in deep and vibrant famille verte overglaze enamels. The recessed underfoot is glazed white.
