CATALOGUE NOTES

A blanc de chine brush pot of cylindrical, slightly waisted form, the exterior sides are molded with four large square panels in low relief, each depicting a tranquil scene in the countryside with trees, rocks, river, isolated pavilions and a small solitary fisherman. Glazed overall in a transparent glaze over the white body with the exception of a narrow band around the small circular indentation in the center of the base, which contains an underglaze ruyi within a double circle.
