CATALOGUE NOTES

The three-dimensional group is modeled on a flat oval rockwork base.  It comprises a lioness beneath a gnarled pine tree baring her fangs at a squirrel taking refuge high up amidst vertical rocks. Glazed on the biscuit, the lioness, squirrel and tree are naturalistically colored while the jagged rocks are covered with 'egg and spinach' palette.
