CATALOGUE NOTES

A blue and white teapot and cover, of tall cylindrical shape with angular and square sectioned spout and handle. The pot is raised on short bracket feet and the circular cover is finished with a cylindrical knop. The sides are painted with two depictions of the same scene -- each with four "Long Elisas" standing in a wooded and rocky garden. One figure is holding a basket of fruit, while another holds a small branch. On the shoulder is a band of thousand antiques and around the neck are two chrysanthemum sprays. The cover is decorated with two dragons, each holding a branch and chasing each other around the white knop. The base has an artemesia leaf and ribbon.
