CATALOGUE NOTES

A pair of famille verte rectangular plaques, each enclosed in a striking green ground border with flowering plants and scrolling foliage. One shows a scene of a scholar and pupils in a terraced garden practicing archery; one small boy hiding behind the man's skirts. The other with a scene of two scholars meeting on a mountain path flanked by a horse and two attendants, a pavilion visible in the background.
