    CATALOGUE NOTES

A famille verte bell-form teapot and cover, with a rectangular overhead imitation reed or bamboo handle in yellow and black. The teapot is finely decorated with two rectangular panels, one with two elegant ladies seated in a garden before a table; the other with a lady presenting a wrapped package (perhaps a qin) to a seated lady. The enamels are highlighted in gilt. The s-form, square section spout and the shoulder are decorated with flowers and cloud forms. The short straight neck is encircled by a meander on a green ground and the flat-topped cover is a stylized flower-head centered around the knop.
