    CATALOGUE NOTES

    Rare blue and white beehive shaped teapot and cover, of segmented hemispherical form and resting on three short semi-circular pedestal feet, with "s" shaped spout, ear shaped handle and short, slightly incurved cylindrical neck. It rests upon three short semi-circular pedestal feet. Decorated along the exterior with rectangular reserves filled with flowering sprigs. The spout and cover are decorated with cloud-form designs. The teapot is surmounted by a dome shaped cover with floral decoration and has a bud finial in its center. All of the decoration is finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue upon a luminous white ground. The underside bears the unusual "G" mark drawn in underglaze blue.
