CATALOGUE NOTES

A small rouleau vase, the sides tapering in towards the bottom, a low relief rib is around the center of the neck and it has an everted rim with a flange. It is finely painted in famille verte enamels with a continuous scene, probably from The Water Margin, depicting two armor-clad warriors on horseback and a standing standard bearer, all in a rocky landscape. The neck is painted with a group of eight small boys playing and at the shoulder a band with oval panels containing antiques reserved on a colored cell ground.
