CATALOGUE NOTES
Blue and white teapot and cover, of tapered lobed quatrefoil form, with broad shoulder, narrowing waist, and slightly expanding foot. The teapot rests upon four small feet. The handle is of C shape and the spout of still S shape. The cover is of quatrefoil form with slightly overhanging lip and bud-form finial. The teapot is decorated with four reserves: the front with flowers, rockeries, and flying bird; the back with aquatic flowers; the sides with flowers and rockeries. The shoulder is decorated with a ruyi head border, and both handle and spout with flowering tendrils. The cover is decorated along the rim with four reserves of flowers and stylized flying insects.
