    CATALOGUE NOTES

Very finely painted with alternating panels of beautiful ladies playing chinese instruments and landscape or 100 antiques designs. The shape of the bowl (derived from a silver original for cooling wine glasses, named after the earl of Montieth) is very cleverly echoed in the painting design, with a generous use in the interior of buddhist symbolism. Similar in form to examples in the Mottakeda Collection and Groninger Museum.
