CATALOGUE NOTES
Pair of powder blue and blue and white plates, of similar broad rounded form, with sloping cavetto and wide flat well, resting upon a short, flat pedestal foot with slightly recessed underfoot. The interior of each is decorated with a large barbed octofoil reserve. One is decorated with lotus, the other is decorated with a flowering tree, all painted in underglaze cobalt blue in a fine broad stroke painting style with fine stippling. The reserves drawn against a deep powder blue ground. The reverse sides decorated with bamboo along the edge. The underfoot bearing an apocryphal leaf mark within double rings drawn in underglaze blue.
